I found myself mostly watching home improvement shows or nature shows. While these shows aren’t necessarily bad, I felt like the time I spent watching them was wasted. I really didn’t learn enough about home improvement to turn my house into a mansion, and in all actuality, I can’t remember any tips that were worth all the time I spent watching. And all that nature knowledge has yet to be proven useful. Maybe next time I see a tiger staring me down at the grocery store, I’ll wish I had watched more Discovery channel. But until then, I’ve found all that television to be a waste of time.

So, we took the plunge. When we moved into our house 9 years ago, we decided to go without cable TV. For the sake of full disclosure, we did get the very basic cable, which comes with mostly local broadcast channels, about 10 total. It only costs $10 per month, and since we are a cable subscriber we get a $15 dollar discount on our cable Internet. Looks like we stumbled upon a small loop hole, plus we don’t have to deal with a TV antenna.

The choice to ditch the cable started some time before moving into our house. We decided to conduct a little experiment to turn off the TV for an entire week. No TV at all for one week. Going into it, I wasn’t sure how the week would unfold. Like most households, I would come home from work and spend most of the evening lounging on the couch watching TV. I wondered how I would occupy my time.

We decided to just jump right into it, and here’s how it went. I spent a lot of time reading. It was nice to have additional time to read, but the real bonus was I could read in quiet. There were no noisy distractions. I spent more time talking with my wife. We could chat about the day or ponder the mysteries of the universe. Once again, no distractions. We were able to spend more time cooking. No rush to get through cooking or eating dinner just so we could catch some “must see” TV. The thing I remember the most from our “No TV Week” was the quiet. All week I came home to a silent peaceful environment.

It might make a good story if I told you we decided to give up TV completely, but we didn’t. We allowed the TV back into our lives. When it came back though, it was no longer allowed to consume our evenings. We were more mindful about what we watched. The evening news was no longer allowed, as we saw the constant stream of negativity as detrimental to our peaceful evenings. We applied a loose rule to TV programs that they had to be better than watching a movie. If we would pay the cost of a movie rental, then it may be worth watching.

The “No TV Week” allowed us to look more objectively about what we wanted to watch on TV. From this, we determined that we weren’t watching near as much Cable TV as we had thought. Most of the shows we watched were on regular network TV. Looking at the cost of $60 a month for standard cable, we figured we had to have at least 10 movie quality shows per month. That just didn’t pan out. We didn’t watch that many movie quality TV shows on cable in any given month. So, when it came time to move into our house, we didn’t sign up for Cable. I haven’t missed it in the least.

Have you ever tried a No TV experiment? Have you considered giving up cable TV? I’d love to hear from you.

A lot of people want to be popular and well known. They try everything on earth to be someone. I think this is natural in us humans.

Over the past few years I’ve succeeded at NOT having friends. Why? I ask myself all the time. I feel that I am a good guy and a likable person.

So I’ve decided to tell people that if you don’t want to win friends you have to do as I have done. If you want to succeed at not having friends, then listen to what I have learned from myself about my relationship with friends.

What I’ve learned was that all this time I have been criticizing every person I know without looking at myself first. I also have a habit of complaining too much. Confucius said “Don’t complain about the snow on your neighbor’s roof, when your own doorstep is unclean”.

Have you noticed that I have been using the word “I” too much? If you read “I” you are correct.

You see guys I have been selfish all along, I have been interested on the wrong person all this time and that person is me. I should have been interested in them, all of them, my friends. I have not showed interest in those I met. So please don’t do the same mistakes I made.

If you show interest in them, I mean genuine interest, they will show it back to you like no other.

So another point is here: Don’t bother showing interest in people if you DON’T want to win friends.

The last secret to success at not winning a friend is to NOT show them how much you appreciate them.

I’ll be honest to you and say that actually I have made a lot of friends but that’s only because all my friends have done the opposite of what I have. They know how to win friends. I took for granted their friendship and lost them, because of my lack of appreciation.

I just want to say one last thing if I may: I want to thank all the readers of this blog on behalf of all the writers. If it wasn’t for you I know I wouldn’t have the urge to write. I greatly appreciate and enjoy everyone that reads and comments on this blog.

So listen and learn from my mistakes. Don’t criticize, Don’t be all about yourself, and Don’t take your friends for granted.

peace in the world they can have it.
The only trouble is they are not aware

The Creative Block:

This is not the popular type of creative block I am referring to – the one in which an artist or writer is mentally and creatively blocked. This is the systematic and cultural creative block imposed by social control structures.

We are brought up and educated to follow a reality which is socially constructed, shared and inter-subjective. We are grown in an environment in which the value of things is given to us through peer consensus or disapproval. You can say that this is an artificially built reality very much like in the blockbuster movie The Matrix.

Authenticity and individualization:

Individualization means, amongst other things, to break free from the social mold and discovering your true purpose. Very often this runs counter to the pressures imposed by our social environment and hence individualization is very often revolutionary and crisis-laden.

People go through all sorts of rebellious phases, capsize their lives or revolutionize their lifestyle in order to walk through the journey of inner discovery and authenticity.

Taking the red pill:

“You take the blue pill – the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill – you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes.” Morpheus in the Matrix

Taking Morpheus’s red pill needs not be life shattering or full of drama. Soul searching is nothing but the shift of outer awareness into inner awareness. It all starts from being more aware of your inner calling.

Here are some points I always try to live by in my quest for freedom and authenticity:

1. Listen to your heart and bravely follow where it is pointing at.

2. Have more time for inner reflection.

3. Free yourself from useless clutter such as dreams which are not authentically yours.

4. Ask yourself which is the thing you love doing with enthusiasm, drives you, fires your imagination or make you feel complete and happy.

5. Forget practical and social constraints – the ‘you can’t make a living out of it’ or ‘you are daydreaming’. These are just thought barriers imposed by others. It need not apply to you.

6. There are no limits. There are only barriers of thought but not of practice. Many people have achieved the unimaginable because they believed so.

7. Be aware of the mental echoes that go around your head. Those repetitive self-defeating thoughts which hang around in our head. Very often these come from associations to past failures or rather perceptions of past failures. The past is past and is no guarantee of the future as certain disclaimers go.

8. Be aware that these mental limits are only mental or social constructions. They are tiny programs of the matrix to keep you under moderation and equalization.

9. Awareness of these ‘memes’ or ‘social programs’ means that they will eventually dissolve right before your eyes and you will start seeing outside the synthetic reality.

10. Once you starts seeing clearly beyond the socially built barriers you see that your dreams and goals are not only possible but concretely attainable.

11. Through awareness, your reality shifts – you escape the matrix and you start seeing a clearer reality in which you can achieve whatever you want if you set your heart and mind to it.

“Every person is surrounded by a thought atmosphere…Through this power we are either attracting or repelling. Like attracts like and … we attract just what we are in mind.”-Ernest Holmes

I am feeling so happy and excited, because The Law of Manifestation has done it to me again. And I want to share this feeling with you.

Around three years ago, I started my career in door to door vacuum sales. I never forgot the story my mentor, this Millionaire Guy, gave us about how The Law of Attraction helped him get where he was. He said “if it wasn’t for The Law of Attraction he would not be a multi-millionaire”. I knew then that if this Millionaire Guy believed in this SH@#!! (excuse my French), I had to start doing the things he did and thinking how he did.

I remember that same day something crazy happened to me that led me to really believe this SH@#! And from that moment on I told myself that I would never think like the average person again; and I would think about every detail of how I wanted my life to be!

That day our mentor made us do a silly exercise that I will never forget; he told us to write down how many vacuums we wanted to sell for that day, week, and month. He told us to close our eyes and picture what it would feel to sell those vacuums and to imagine those checks in our hands when we got them.

I remember that half of our team did this exercise and the other half just didn’t believe in this SHIT!, and thought this was some mumbo jumbo. Well, I guess that’s why they were so successful. But I was dumb enough to listen and smart enough to do it.

As he said it, not everyone would do it, but those who would, would win the trip to Puerto Rico. The ones that did it didn’t sell what they wrote down, but did go on a trip.

A more recent story, just a few weeks ago to be precise I wanted to network with bloggers that were in the same niche as me and had the same beliefs as I did. So I decided to start applying the Laws of Manifestation as I do with everything else. As you can imagine, yes, it manifested, and it is why you are able to read this story.

Just a week ago I landed somehow at The Skool of Life. I was curious, so I decided to read a few articles and listen to an interview that Srinivas did with Jared from Under30 CEO. I can remember him talking about launching a multi-author blog and wanting to connect with new bloggers, it was then that I knew that Universe that opened up for me to connect with him. I sent him an email and here I am thanks to the Laws again.

If you truly believe that you can attract anything to your life through thinking and believing in your thoughts. You are right.

For those of you that would like to apply the Law of Manifestation I recommend “The Law of Attraction” or “The Secret” these are great resources that can help you understand these laws.

I can understand that for somebody new, this could be difficult to take in. I certainly didn’t think that what this Millionaire Guy taught me would ever change my thinking. All I know is that I was dumb enough to listen, smart enough to do it.

If you have a story related to The Law of Attraction I would love to get some feedback and get some comments on how it has help you achieve anything please share it.

Q. Whats the worst word?

A. “Can’t”.

Most people can understand that but you might be shocked by what the second worst word in the English language is…its “TRY”

I absolutely hate that word

There is nothing wrong with giving your best effort in pursuit of something. The mindset behind the word “try” is what I can’t stand and what I believe limits your abilities and talents. Master Yoda gave all of us the best advice we ever disregarded when he told young Luke, “Do or Do not. There is no try”. I mean we can’t look to a short, green, Jedi master puppet for sound life advice can we? Yes we absolutely can, because he was telling the plain and simple truth!

No matter what thing or task you are doing in life, there will only be two outcomes. Either you did it, successfully, or you did not do it. Simple. Master Yoda’s point was when you are looking at something you want to accomplish, you must look at it with the mentality that I am going to DO this. I am not going to try to do something because trying implies my lack of belief in what I am doing or able to do. We have all been guilty of it in seemingly small little ways:

“I’m TRYING to get in shape this year” or “I’m going to TRY to be a better person” or “I’m TRYING to clean up my life”.

It’s all bogus. If you want to get in shape, go to the gym and decide that “I am getting in shape”. Whatever you want to do for yourself, your family or your friends should be framed in the mentality that I can and will DO this. Notice how weak the word ‘try’ can sound. When you hear people use ‘try’ in relation to something you are unsure they are able to do, does the word ‘try’ increase or decrease your confidence in them?

There is nothing wrong with failing. ‘You can’t win them all’ is also true. My hope for each of you who read this is that you take a look at whatever you want to do and just stop giving yourself the excuse of trying. Just Do it.

Homework for this week

Here is a brief but helpful assignment. Tell the people you speak with most frequently that you are going to stop using the word ‘try’ and ask them to call you on it each time.

Immediately you will notice a couple of things:

1. Most of us use the word ‘try’ a lot

2. After a couple of days, you will say the word ‘try’ much less.

There are no limits on what you will be able to do once you stop trying and just do it! So quit trying now and start doing!

As I was driving to work this morning, car radio tuned in on BBC world news, I listened in complete stupor to the incredible story of an extraordinary man – Geoff Holt.

Geoff has set out to sail across the Atlantic Ocean single-handedly in his sailing yacht ‘Impossible dream’ from the Canary Islands to the Caribbean. There is one slight barrier to his amazing journey – a barrier Geoff has amazingly demonstrating can be leaped over – he is wheelchair bound with limited movements in his arms and hands.

He is already the first quadriplegic sailor to sail around Britain a feat he describes as his ‘personal Everest’. His courage, determination and positive outlook on life are not only admirable and inspiring but truly exemplar. You should listen to this man – his humble words convey an immediate shot of motivation and respect to life.

At the end of his 3000 mile journey, which he describes as truly emotional (no doubt of that), he landed on an Island called Tortola on the British Virgin Islands, specifically to a place called Garden Bay where 25 years ago he had suffered neck injuries during shallow sea water diving – an accident that led him to his disability.

Geoff says that he chose the place because he wants to ‘lay some ghosts to rest’. What is amazing though is that he did not say this in a bitter, repressed kind of way. On the contrary he radiantly tells the BBC journalist that his disability was a blessing in disguise that gave him the amazing opportunity to meet his wife (which was and still is his nurse) and to have a wonderful son, his now seven year old Timothy.

Listening to Geoff as he was being interviewed on the radio was truly inspiring. You could hear the shining splendor of a transformed and enlightened soul beaming through his words. “I am a happy man he exclaimed” and the tone of his voice clearly doesn’t betray his positive state of mind.

Geoff is an outstanding example of strength of spirit, resilience and excellence in human character. He is a living interpretation of the saying: “Life is not what happens to you but what you make out of it”.

Not only did he carry on with his life, marry and build a family after being physically challenged but he set out to reach dreams and adventures with a burning heart.

No doubt that his amazing success came from a strong set of beliefs. “We can achieve anything”, he said “if we truly believe in ourselves and just get out there without being afraid of failing”. Failing is good, it’s an inevitable lesson in life we should wisely embrace and make profit out of it.

If you are anything like me then you embraced the words “eat, drink and be merry” during the holidays. While I didn’t do nearly as much drinking during the holidays, as in years past, the 7 day cruise to Mexico I took with my parents allowed for plenty of eating. In fact there were days when I couldn’t decide between desserts so I’d just order both of them. Sometimes I’d even double up on appetizers. So if you want to eat to your heart’s content I highly recommend a cruise.

Alright, I’ll get back to the point. There’s a good chance that your holiday eating habits were not exactly healthy. Food that you eat is generally buttery, artery clogging wholesome goodness. Add some booze to that and there’s a reason you only eat like this during the holidays (supposedly). So let’s look at getting back into the swing of a healthy routine.

Water: First things first. We want to start flushing all this crap out of the system. In general most people don’t drink enough water. I had a friend from Denmark who told me that he had stomach problems for a while and by drinking a liter of water a day for 3 months, they all went away. You might not have stomach problems, but regular consumption of water is a good thing so I recommend keeping some at your desk, in your car, or wherever you are. Hydrating will refresh your system quite a bit.

Fruits: One thing you want to do is incorporate water rich foods into your diet. I learned this from Tony Robbins. Fruits are a great way to do that. As cheesy as the old saying “an apple a day keeps the doctor away” might be there is plenty of truth to that. Many people often get sick after the holidays because their systems are clogged full of crap. Eat lots of fruits and you can avoid that. Additionally fruits give you a nice energy boost without a crash.

Greens: Greens are another thing you want to incorporate into your diet not just after the new year, but on a regular basis. People who eat lots of greens often seem to have lots of energy. There are so many benefits to eating lots of green vegetables that I’m going to leave it to Google to tell you what they are.

Ditch Desserts: I love, love, love anything dessert-like. I have a sweet tooth to say the least and on my cruise when I had the options of 7 desserts, I was in such bliss that I would often order two. I can’t honestly tell you I plan on ditching desserts. But, give yourself a few weeks off from the desserts. You’ll be glad you did and you’ll feel more confident in your ability to be disciplined.

Ditch Fast Food: I ate quite a bit of fast food in the last few months because it was cheap. But, I plan on eating much healthier now that I have a job. If you must eat fast food, try to stick to something like subway that gives you an opportunity for plenty of veggies and water rich food.

Exercise: This should be the most obvious of all. A friend told me once that the simple weight loss formula was “eat less and exercise more.” While I know that’s not the easiest thing for many people and some people aren’t blessed genetically, it’s still worth incorporating into your life. If you do this, you’ll find your overall energy level is higher and you will be happier. Exercise releases endorphins so that will make you happier and allow you to have the energy to focus on what you want to accomplish in 2010.

Talents are the world’s best assets for its future. On a collective and global level, it is in society’s best interest to encourage and nourish new talents through education, training and development programs and other means of knowledge transfer.

It must make sure to provide individuals with adequate and fair opportunities to develop their potential and help them invest in their future. This assures a fair return in social contribution and participation.

On an individual level, it is also in everyone’s best interest to look after themselves and make sure to cultivate and make good use of their talents. There is nothing more dissatisfying than living a life with wasted talents and nothing more enriching than being in perfect line with your true potential.

Unleashing your talent is therefore a superlative prerequisite to excellent living both personally and socially.

One of the most difficult problems in a person’s life is finding one’s true purpose and part of that problem is unleashing hidden talents and making use of them in everyday life.

Here are a few tips which can help to provide the right setting for unleashing and cultivating your talents with the least amount of friction and stress.

1. Identify your talents through awareness and inner focus. This means placing more attention towards inner feelings and motivations and ask yourself questions such as: “What drives me?”, “What type of work or activity puts me in the right mood?”, “what makes me happy and never makes me tired working on it?”

2. Recognize your talents and accept them with an open heart. Sometimes talents are suppressed because of fear of disapproval or social pressure. Be fearless in finding your talents. Talents are pure and powerful. Be grateful for whichever talents you possess.

3. Don’t be judgmental or critical about them. You cannot say “I’m not very good at this” when you haven’t trained or developed it yet. And even if so, you have to give it space to grow more. Criticism and perfectionism can bury a talent instead of developing it.

4. Assess your talents with an analytical mind (not a critical mind) and try to objectively ask practical questions such as: “What is my level of knowledge/expertise in this subject? “What objective do I want to reach with this talent?”, “How long will it take me to develop it and how much time am I ready to invest in it?”, “How can I organize my life around this talent?”.

5. When you are sure you have a talent you want to develop, put it on top of your priority list and declutter your mind from other objectives which are not conducive to helping you develop those talents. Keep it simple and focused.

6. Don’t try to reach too much in one go. Plan it ahead and spread it out over practical and down to earth timeframes.

7. When your heart is resolute to develop a talent, it is important to start now. Often, we recognize what we have to do, how to do it and where to do it but not when to do it. We have all the knowledge and the willingness but not the readiness. Our mind starts deferring it because of some excuse or other. You may not have a perfect start but who does? It’s important to start now.

How to sharpen your talents:

1. Practice, practice, practice: No matter how naturally talented a successful person is, he or she will tell you that there is not other way but to practice. Practice is the key to maintain and improve on your talents.

2. Learn, explore and expand: With so much information freely available about practically anything, it is easy to increase knowledge about your subject. Read books, blogs, articles, watch videos and widen your knowledge. The broader the perspective, the richer your talent will grow.

3. Ask, share and reflect: Networking and leveraging on other people’s knowledge is still one of the fastest and most productive way to learn. Go into forums, online communities, blogs, webinars, whatever, and be open to ask others, share your experiences and most of all stop to reflect on what you learned. Reflection gives you space to cement information into knowledge.

These are 14 facts one should definitely know about happiness. Happiness has been widely discussed and extensively researched...but what is it?

Happiness is a subject which invokes a lot of interests and a wide range of opinions. It seems that every living person on this planet has some form of opinion of what happiness is or ought to be.

That happiness is desirable is definitely one thing that is universally agreed upon. The diversity of opinions blossoms on how one should reach happiness.

Religion, Science, Philosophy and spiritual disciplines speak of happiness in different lines that diverge in all sorts of directions.

Religion and world philosophies have tried to seek the truth of happiness in the inner and spiritual sphere of human life while recently Science has been trying to study and analyze some common factors that are conducive to, or symptomatic of, happiness.

I thought it would be interesting to gather some well known facts about happiness from different fields and put them together in one list.

Here are a few I picked:

1. Happiness is not dependent or proportional to income. It’s a recorded fact that 37% of people on Forbes’ list are less happy than the average American. From past studies, it has resulted that happiness only varies with income till a certain threshold is reached (approximately average income and quality of life). Beyond that it doesn’t really make a difference.

2. Social conditions such as civic rights and individual freedom are a prerequisite of happiness but not completely necessary. The more a country has civic liberty and just laws, the more its inhabitants tend to be happy. But a lot of exceptions can be found, at least on an individual level if not on a collective one. There are volumes of stories of people who have found happiness and meaning in life in the midst of terrible hardships and injustice.

3. Dan Gilbert, who has researched happiness extensively, tells how lack of choice sometimes begets happiness. In one experiment, people were asked to choose a painting from a set which they could take home for free. Half of them were given the choice to return it and exchange it for another after a given time if they were not happy with it. The others were not given this choice at all. It turned out that those which were not given any choice were most happy with their original choice unlike those which hadn’t.

4. Happiness is more a question of inner predisposition than external factors. In fact several studies have shown that external factors are only 10% responsible for happiness. Inner predisposition such as attitude, relationships and outlook on life make up 50% of this contribution.

5. Social support and meaningful relationships are key ingredients to happiness. People who have strong relationships and meaningful social ties tend to be much happier than those that are secluded, lonely or disconnected.

6. The happiest people are those who are living and working what they are passionate about irrelevant of financial return or compensation.

7. Another key factor to happiness is living your authentic aspirations, free from social pressures and the influence of peer consensus and approval.

8. Physical activity promotes happiness. Certain studies showed that after exercising for 20 minutes, 3 times a week, happiness levels increased by 10-20% in all subjects just after 6 months.

9. Happy people are healthier in general. It is also shown that happy people produce as much as 50% more antibodies than people who are unhappy or depressed.

10. Pets can reduce blood pressure and stress which in turns promotes happiness.

11. People who tend not to take things personally or hold grudges are far happier than those that do.

12. Happiness lies also in appreciation and contentment. It is a well known cliché to find people who have a lot but are eternally dissatisfied with everything and those who possess very little but are happy and grateful for what they have.

13. The world population is on average less than 65% happy.

14. Another known constant in the happiness formula is optimism. Having an optimistic outlook on life can make a whole lot of a difference to how you respond to situations and how happy you can be as a result of that.

If someone asked you which beliefs you always carry around, would you laugh?

I mean what a stupid notion is that really? Beliefs are in our mind and part of our character set. So location is not an issue because you carry your beliefs wherever you go. But are you sure? Really?

I came to the realization that this is not so, or not always the case.

Being 5,000 miles away from home (when I wrote this draft), I started giving the hypothesis that some beliefs are more portable than others, a serious test.

First of all, traveling and being out and about is an opportunity to expand your experiential horizon in a short period of time.

Traveling brings about change in perspective, a cocktail of new experiences but most of all the openness to traverse some mental parameters and revise old borders of behavior. I know you have a clear idea of what I am talking about.

Beliefs that are Locally Bound

We all have a set of beliefs – beliefs in our daily influences, the relationship between things and ideas which stretch over many areas of our lives.

Do these change over time? Some of them certainly do.

Do they change over place? I think so too.

This boils down to a relatively simple fact. If you are living over the same repeated life situations, more time does not equal more experience. But if place is changed in the equation, there are more chances of expanding your experiential borders.

Traveling happens to give you such an avenue of opportunity. More than that it is an experiential window which adds enough experiences to revise some old beliefs or completely replace them with some new ones.

When beliefs are changed when experiencing a new place, that is, a new culture and way of life, it means that the beliefs you previously held were not that portable since they are either relative to place or somehow flawed and dispensable.

The earliest historical example of this is found in Greece. Ancient Greece was a very sophisticated civilization for its time. So much so that anyone who came outside the Hellenic colony was referred to as barbarian. The Greeks used to believe that their system of ethical morals and laws was absolute. When wandering teachers known as sophists used to travel outside the Greek territory they started encountering different cultures with different laws and rules of ethical conduct. Hence they also learned that such things are not absolute after all but relative. So were some of their beliefs. They were discarded somewhere along their travels. They were not portable enough.

Space-time Independent Beliefs

There are beliefs on the other hand which are not dependent on time or place. Experience does not brush them off but rather reinforces them. These are the beliefs which come in handy in any given time and situation.

They are the core armor of our mental framework. They are indispensable to our well being and at an extreme, to our survival.

In moments of crisis or when we enter a world completely foreign to us, they are a shining beacon that guides us into safe waters.

Do you know which are those beliefs? Did you ever had the chance to test them out?

Portable Beliefs

A few examples in my case are:

The belief that everyone wants to be happy and has the right to be so. Don’t break those rights.

Actions have consequences, whether good or bad and we have the responsibility to consciously choose some as against others. Don’t forget this responsibility.

We all carry a spark of divinity inside of us because we are part of it. Recognize it and nourish it and it will grow inside you no matter where you are.

There is always another view on ‘reality’. You always see a fragment of it. Don’t take your view as absolute.

Be calm at any time. A calm mind will always foster the right decision, the wisest choice and biggest harmony with yourself and others. There is really no greater tool than a calm, clear and sharp mind.

There are certainly other beliefs aside the examples above that I would term ‘portable’ but I will not list them all for practical reasons.

Travel Light

The relevance of this mental workout is not futile or mere curiosity. It helps us identify those beliefs which are untrue, narrow or superficial since they are only applicable to one place (or not even there if we dig deeper).

So, it also means that those beliefs are dispensable and limited. So why carry them around as dead weight? Wouldn’t it be better to replace them with more useful and empowering beliefs?

Stay light and only carry those beliefs which are portable since chances are that they are the right ones.

By time, change and inner growth should follow the natural progression of replacing limiting and redundant beliefs with beliefs that are positive, life-affirming and practically applicable in all given situations through time and place – hence as portable as possible.
